Acceptable Use
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Syntactor may not be used to facilitate unlawful activity, exploitation or abuse, serious harm, or activity prohibited by the service's safety rules. This applies to rewriting and every other Syntactor service.
Examples of what this means in practice:
- No requests that facilitate the sexual exploitation of minors.
- No requests that give explicit instructions for serious criminal wrongdoing.
- No requests that explicitly facilitate serious violent harm.
- No requests that facilitate self harm.
- No other clearly high risk content designated as blocked by the service's safety policy.
Writing about sensitive subjects for legitimate purposes, such as reporting, education, harm reduction, or fiction, is not prohibited merely because it mentions a sensitive topic. Automated checks can make mistakes.
Website rewrites are screened against our content safety policy before results are delivered. Repeated cancelled rewrites or blocked submissions can lead to escalating cooldowns and temporary rewriting bans on an account or network. Restrictions expire automatically; contact hello@syntactor.com if you believe a restriction is mistaken.
This policy is not a guarantee that Syntactor can identify every unlawful activity. It is the boundary of what the service is willing to process.
